The successor to the Hubble, and touted as the most technologically advanced telescope ever built, this eye in the sky will be capable of taking even better images of the universe than ever before. With so much cool stuff to do and see in space, it’s important that we keep pushing our telescopes to their limits; which is why I love the James Webb Telescope so much! Here are ten reasons why this amazing piece of equipment is so awesome!
1 – Size
The James Webb Space Telescope is absolutely massive, and that’s a good thing. At 21 feet long and weighing in at nearly 10,000 pounds, it’s the largest telescope ever sent into space. That size allows it to collect an unprecedented amount of light, which means we’ll be able to see things in greater detail than ever before.
2 – Longevity
The Webb telescope is designed to last at least five to ten years, which is much longer than most other telescopes. This means that it can be used to study long-term trends in space, as well as providing data that can be used by future generations of astronomers.
